Republic day what is it……

Spread the love

I literally forgot why we are celebrating Republic day. I just read wikipedia and understood that we are celebrating it on the day of formation of our constitution… How can I forget this? I read this during my schooling, but I read for someone else not for my self. We came a long way 60 yrs were gone and still there is lot to be changed in this country.

In fact we have the best constitution when compared to any other country in the world. We have the land, labor, capital and still we are a developing nation. I considered this day as like any other holiday. Most of them are considering the same way, it is not the fault of any individual or anyone. We are injecting into brain of people that Republic day we get a holiday. Children go to school for chocolates, sweets or to have fun but how many of us are really respecting this day. I read a post on Mohan’s Blog we can see some cool pictures of how soldiers celebrate this great day. He wrote his own feelings and his experience and I want people to see those pictures.

Today I learned about what is that I can do for my country directly and indirectly. I am trying to assign a target to myself and will try to finish it by next Republic day. If only we understand the importance of any thing we take care of it or else we take it for granted.

I was shocked to sea a report on a TV show which was interviewing people randomly on various streets across Bangalore. Around 98% of the people had no clue about what this republic day is all about and why we celebrate this day. They were simply enjoying it as a holiday.. and nothing more! Wikipedia has a good content related to this special day. Hope many people get to know this day and its importance in the history of india.

Yes its true. But we cannot blame them we cannot blame any one if it comes to extremes. We have to change and educate the world around us and the system of education must be changed. These are taught in our social studies during our schooling but we studied for exams but not with understanding. Let’s try and educate the world with our blogs and let’s hope some of them will get educated.

i read about it only after reading your post or else i am also as blind as any other person in bangalore.
