Run Boy Run

Spread the love

I read this story when I was in my 9th standard “Run Boy Run” during that time I myself don’t knew that I am loosing my vision slowly. We cannot help out much for what is not there in our hands and I use to think each and every day how a person can live with disability. For instance in the story Glenn meets with a fire accident and his legs are totally burnt. Doctors suggest amputating the legs, so that the 8yr old boy will be able to adjust with the artificial legs.

Glenn hesitates and then with continuous massages by his parents he will be able to stand on his feet and soon he becomes the world’s fastest one mile runner. You can read his achievements and biography here

Glenn Cunning Ham

He was my hero and he will be. Forever. When ever I feel low I remember him and the pain he went through to reach that level. After observing my self I understood couple of things which might be common “From pain emerges anger, anger turns into determination and that emotion turns into action”.

The story of Glenn proves that if there is determination there is nothing that can stop.

I think there is no book as far as I knew… I read the story as a young boy during my school time… the story was in my English curriculum… I will check online & keep you posted if I find something.
